Simrad AIS Bridge Console-C is a AIS transponder (GMDSS / AIS Transponder). It is normally installed on the bridge or in the radio/GMDSS console, with external antennas mounted where they have the required radio or satellite view. It is intended to transmit and receive vessel identity, position and voyage-related data for situational awareness. The meaning of any embedded size or rating code should be confirmed in manufacturer documentation. In service it interfaces with ship power and reserve power, antennas, GNSS or navigation data where required, audio or operator units and the vessel's communication network.
