The Furuno SCX-20 is a gyrocompass or electronic heading-reference system. It is normally installed with its master sensor in a controlled location and heading outputs distributed around the bridge. It is designed for true-heading information for navigation and steering consumers. The operating principle relies on non-magnetic heading sensing and electronic distribution to repeaters and bridge systems.
