The MTU 16V1163-GS-60Hz engine is a high-speed large-bore diesel engine employing a 4-stroke cycle and a V configuration. This powerful engine boasts a displacement of 186.1 liters per 16 cylinders and delivers a robust 5440 kW of power at 1080 rpm. Designed to operate on Marine Diesel Oil (MDO), it is capable of generating 5168 kW for generator applications. Its two-stage sequential turbocharging system, coupled with a common-rail fuel injection system, ensures efficient combustion and performance. The 16V1163-GS-60Hz adheres to IMO II emission standards and can be upgraded to IMO III compliance with an optional Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system. The engine's impressive power output makes it suitable for various marine applications, including main propulsion and auxiliary power generation.
