Davit System (Lifeboat/Raft) · Lifesaving Appliances (LSA)
This maritime equipment falls under the category of shipboard davit systems, essential for crew evacuation and safety. The Rhs.L.S.14/3,5-10/5,0 02E.02 model is manufactured by Global Davit GmbH and is certified according to SOLAS regulations for personnel capacity. The Rhs.L.S.14/3,5-10/5,0 02E.02 is IMO-approved and DNV-certified, ensuring compliance with stringent maritime safety standards. Regular maintenance checks are crucial, including annual functional testing of the On-Load-Release Gear (OLRG) at 1.1 times the Safe Working Load (SWL), followed by inspections for corrosion and wear. Additionally, wire ropes should be checked for kinks, corrosion, and broken strands, with a complete inspection every few years as recommended by the manufacturer. The brake system must be tested for wear on the brake lining and proper remote release function, ensuring the davit's safe operation. Regular inspections for structural corrosion and cracks are also necessary, particularly focusing on zinc-coated structures and stainless steel fastenings. Spare parts for this model are available through Global Davit GmbH or authorized distribution partners, with a lead time of 2 to 6 weeks. Weekly engine tests and annual servicing of the release hook by an approved service provider are mandatory. Hull inspections at docking and a thorough examination every five years complete the maintenance regimen.
