Davit System (Lifeboat/Raft) · Lifesaving Appliances (LSA)
This product falls under the category of maritime crew evacuation and safety equipment, specifically designed for shipboard use. The Rhs.L.S.14/3,5-15/4,0 model is manufactured by Global Davit GmbH and is certified according to SOLAS regulations for crew evacuation purposes. The Rhs.L.S.14/3,5-15/4,0 is IMO approved and has undergone DNV certification, ensuring compliance with stringent maritime safety standards. Regular maintenance is crucial to its reliable operation, including annual functional tests of the on-load release gear (OLRG) at 1.1 times the safe working load (SWL), followed by a thorough inspection for corrosion, wear, and damage. Additionally, wire ropes should be checked for kinks, corrosion, and broken strands, with replacement required if more than 10% of strands are broken over an 8D length. The brake system should be inspected for wear on the brake lining and checked for compliance with SOLAS guidelines regarding descent speed. Periodic inspections should also cover the davit structure for signs of corrosion, including pitting and discolouration, as well as non-destructive testing (NDT) for cracks in the load-bearing structure. Maintenance compliance should be documented, with all work carried out by authorized personnel following the manufacturer's instructions and guidelines from SOLAS MSC.1/Circ.1205 Rev.1.
