It is normally installed in engine-room fan casings, accommodation fan rooms, cargo spaces, machinery spaces or weather-deck ventilation trunks depending on duty. Its primary duty is to supply, extract or circulate air for machinery cooling, habitability, gas control or emergency ventilation duty. In service it interfaces with ductwork, dampers, fire closures, motor starters or drives, weather louvers and the vessel's alarm/control system.
