W04E.36

On modern ships, crew evacuation and safety systems are crucial, with equipment like davits playing a vital role in launching lifeboats efficiently and safely. The W04E.36 davit is SOLAS-certified for crew evacuation, designed to handle the rigors of maritime operations. It is IMO-approved and DNV-certified, ensuring compliance with international standards. Regular maintenance is essential, including annual functional tests of the on-load-release gear (OLRG) with a 1.1 times safety working load (SWL) check, followed by a thorough inspection for corrosion and wear. Wire ropes require periodic inspection for kinks, corrosion, and broken strands, necessitating replacement if more than 10% of a 2-meter length is affected. The braking system should be checked for wear on the braking lining and for compliance with SOLAS S = 0.4 + 0.02H standards, ensuring safe lowering speeds. Additionally, the davit structure must be inspected for corrosion and structural integrity, with any findings addressed promptly to prevent severe failures. Spare parts are available through Global Davit GmbH or authorized distributors, with a lead time of 2 to 6 weeks. Regular maintenance logs must be kept, and only authorized personnel should perform inspections and repairs according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.
