Regular maintenance is essential to prevent common failures like corrosion or blockage of the release hook mechanism, diesel motor start failures due to lack of testing, and osmotic blistering in the GRP hull from prolonged water contact. Additionally, issues with the air supply system's valve failure and safety harness wear from UV exposure and weathering can occur. Spare parts are available through MDO or authorized distribution partners, with a lead time of 2 to 6 weeks. Weekly engine test runs for a minimum of 5 minutes and annual servicing of the release hook by an approved service provider are required. The GRP hull should be inspected during docking, and a thorough examination is recommended every five years.
