5,000 kWPower

The Vulkan VULASTIK L 500 is a high‑torque, highly flexible marine coupling designed to connect propulsion shafts up to 5 MW, providing torsional shock absorption and misalignment compensation. As a Flexible Coupling, it is normally installed in the propulsion shaft line between the engine, gearbox or other rotating components. In that role, its primary purpose is to transmit torque while accommodating limited misalignment and reducing torsional vibration or shock loading. Compared with a rigid flange connection, a flexible coupling uses resilient or movable elements to isolate torsional and alignment effects. For exact ratings, dimensions, settings, capacities, materials and variant-specific limits, refer to the manufacturer documentation for the exact figure.

Service

Service notes.

What our service work and the manufacturer documentation say about keeping this model running.

Inspect resilient elements, flanges, bolts, alignment marks and signs of fretting, heat or contamination. Compare coupling condition with shaft vibration and torsional behaviour after propulsion changes. Verify fastener condition and alignment after replacement. Refer to the manufacturer documentation for the exact figure for allowable deflection, alignment and replacement criteria.

Free of charge — send us your request for Vulkan equipment. Our team checks it and replies by e-mail.

Makers and authorised dealers rarely quote marine equipment without the vessel. With these details we can check availability and prices faster; without them we may have to ask first, which can cost a few days. If you cannot share the vessel, a photo of the equipment’s rating plate does the same job — attach it below or send it as a reply to our confirmation e-mail.
