Portable Multi-Gas Detector · Gas Detection

Technical data from manufacturer or class sources · not yet verified by a person

The MSA Altair io360 is a portable multi-gas detector. It is normally installed in a controlled safety-equipment location and carried to the work site. It is designed for atmosphere testing before and during enclosed-space or hazardous work. In operation, electrochemical, catalytic, infrared or other fitted sensors convert gas concentration into alarms. Compared with neighbouring models, the relevant differences are sensor combination, sampling pump, data logging, wireless functions and approvals; these must be confirmed from the installed documentation rather than inferred from the model designation alone. Service and survey attention should concentrate on bump/calibration status, sensors, battery, pump/filters, alarms and sampling accessories. For exact ratings, dimensions, tolerances, test limits and model-specific settings, refer to the manufacturer documentation for the exact figure.

Service

Service notes.

What our service work and the manufacturer documentation say about keeping this model running.

Perform manufacturer-approved bump, calibration or functional tests and verify the actual fitted gas/sensor configuration. Inspect sampling hoses/filters/pumps or optical paths as applicable, battery/power, alarms and controller interfaces. Confirm sensor locations remain suitable after vessel modifications and maintain valid calibration gas where required.

Spare parts notes

Carry manufacturer-approved sensors where onboard replacement is permitted, filters, sampling hose, pump consumables, batteries/chargers, fuses and selected controller or relay modules. Maintain suitable in-date calibration gas and regulators for the installed sensor types.

Free of charge — send us your request for MSA equipment. Our team checks it and replies by e-mail.

Makers and authorised dealers rarely quote marine equipment without the vessel. With these details we can check availability and prices faster; without them we may have to ask first, which can cost a few days. If you cannot share the vessel, a photo of the equipment’s rating plate does the same job — send it as a reply to our confirmation e-mail.
