ABB Onboard DC Grid Power Distribution System
ABB Onboard DC Grid is a unified DC bus power distribution system that replaces conventional 50/60 Hz AC switchboards on smaller vessels. All generators, energy storage, propulsion drives and consumers connect to a common 1000 V DC bus. Benefits: 20% smaller switchboard footprint, 27% reduced fuel consumption at part load, simplified hybrid integration, faster response in DP applications. Type-approved by DNV, LR, ABS, BV. First production reference: PSV Dina Star (2013).
