Safety
- Welding fume exposure - ensure local exhaust and ventilation, particularly in confined engine room spaces
- Arc flash and UV exposure to eyes and skin during the welding process
- Fire risk from hot slag or spatter near fuel or oil lines
- Using flux/coating that has not been correctly rebaked after moisture exposure risks hydrogen cracking that compromises the finished weld's structural integrity
