• Replacement panels installed that do not match the certified A/B class build-up

Inspection checklist

• Visual check of panel joints, sag, and fixing security at accommodation deck surveys
• Verify suspension grid and hangers match the approved system (spacing, fixing type)
• Check cable/pipe penetrations for proper certified fire-stopping and sealant
• Confirm panel markings/certificate reference (MEDB00006GA) are traceable on replacement stock
• Inspect for water staining indicating deckhead leaks that could compromise the core
• Check condition of any acoustic/thermal insulation behind panels where accessible

Safety

• Fire class (A/B) depends on the complete certified system - do not substitute or modify components without approval, as this can invalidate the fire rating
• Handle and store panels to avoid damaging the core, which is the primary fire/insulation barrier
• Control dust when cutting or drilling panel cores per the manufacturer's material safety data

Class survey

Surveyor confirms the installed system matches the DNV MED Module B approval (cert. MEDB00006GA) for A/B class division, checks fire-stopping at penetrations, and looks for unauthorised alterations that could affect the certified fire rating.
