Norsafe (Arendal, Norwegen, 2017 von Palfinger Marine übernommen) war einer der drei großen Rettungsboot-Hersteller. Totally Enclosed Lifeboats (TELB) werden per Davit zu Wasser gelassen und sind der Standard auf Passagierschiffen. Release-Hook-Versagen ist die häufigste und tödlichste Fehlerursache bei Rettungsbooten — IMO hat 2013 verschärfte Vorschriften erlassen (MSC.1/Circ.1206/Rev.1).
