QCMB – Box Chiller

Refrigerant circuit: check for leaks at compressor shaft seal, brazed plate heat exchanger connections, and all pipe joints; verify refrigerant charge and superheat/subcooling values

Compressor condition: monitor operating pressures (suction/discharge), oil level and oil quality, bearing temperatures, and vibration levels; check unloading mechanism on piston compressors

Heat exchangers (BHE/shell & tube): inspect for fouling, scaling, and corrosion on chilled-water and seawater/cooling-water sides; verify differential pressure across heat exchanger against design value

Seawater/cooling-water circuit: inspect strainer and clean if fouled; check pump seals, flow rate, and inlet/outlet temperatures against design parameters; verify anti-corrosion anode condition

Electrical and control system: verify SIEMENS PLC software version and alarm log; test safety devices (high/low pressure switches, thermal overloads, flow switches); check terminal torque and insulation resistance

Safety and relief devices: test high-pressure cut-out, low-pressure cut-out, and relief valve operation; verify correct set-points per classification society requirements (DNV, Lloyd's, BV, etc.)

Vibration and mounting: inspect anti-vibration mounts and foundation bolts for loosening or deterioration; measure overall vibration signature and compare to baseline

Chilled-water system: verify glycol concentration (freeze protection), system pressure, expansion vessel pre-charge, and strainer cleanliness; check chilled-water pump seal condition and flow balance across consumers
