Valve inspection and replacement (suction and discharge valves): check for wear, breakage, leakage, and correct seating; replace at manufacturer-specified intervals

Piston rings and cylinder liner inspection: measure wear with go/no-go gauges; check for scoring, blow-by, or excessive clearance

Crankshaft and connecting rod bearing clearances: measure journal and bearing wear; check oil film pressure and replace bearings per service intervals

Lubrication system: verify oil level, oil pressure, oil quality and viscosity, oil separator function, and check for refrigerant dilution in crankcase oil

Shaft seal (mechanical seal) inspection: check for refrigerant leakage, wear of seal faces, and correct spring tension

Safety devices: test high/low pressure cut-outs, oil pressure differential switch, discharge temperature limiter, and crankcase heater function

Cylinder head and gasket condition: inspect for hot spots, leakage, and corrosion; retorque head bolts to specification

Vibration and alignment check: measure and correct crankshaft end-float, coupling alignment, and belt tension (V-belt drives); inspect anti-vibration mounts
