Crankshaft seal integrity (open-drive models 5F/5H/05G): inspect shaft seal assembly for refrigerant or oil leaks; check seal face wear and replace two-piece seal if leakage is detected

Motor winding insulation resistance: perform megohmmeter test on hermetic and semi-hermetic motor windings to detect moisture ingress or insulation breakdown

Discharge and suction pressure / superheat check: verify operating pressures match design conditions; check suction superheat to prevent liquid slugging back to compressor

Capacity modulation / unloader function test: verify suction cut-off unloaders or cylinder unloading solenoids operate correctly across the full modulation range (typically down to 35% load)

Safety controls and protection module check: test high-pressure and low-pressure cutouts, oil pressure differential switch, and motor overload or compressor protection module for correct setpoints and operation

Vibration, mounting hardware, and coupling alignment: inspect anti-vibration mounts, check fastener torque, verify belt tension and sheave alignment (open-drive), and review vibration spectrum for bearing wear
