Inspect crankcase oil level and oil quality; check for refrigerant dilution, contamination, and correct viscosity grade

Verify crankcase heater function before start-up to prevent liquid refrigerant slugging in the oil sump

Check suction and discharge pressure readings against design operating envelope; investigate any deviation in compression ratio

Inspect shaft seals and gaskets for leaks; check all flanged connections and brazed joints with leak detector

Measure motor winding insulation resistance and check supply voltage/current balance across all three phases

Inspect suction filter/strainer and oil filter; clean or replace if differential pressure limit is exceeded

Verify unloading solenoid valve operation and capacity-control steps; check for correct pressure differential across stages on two-stage models (SB/SBC series)
