METEOR X 2% High-Expansion Foam Concentrate works by combining hydrocarbon surfactants and solvents to create a versatile firefighting agent. This concentrate is designed for use with both high-expansion foam generators, achieving expansion ratios from 200:1 up to 1000:1, and medium-expansion foam nozzles, which typically provide a 50:1 to 200:1 ratio. It is manufactured by Skum/Tyco and can be proportioned easily using standard equipment like balanced pressure bladder tanks or in-line venturi proportioners. When used with high-expansion generators, the concentrate effectively suppresses fires by flooding large areas, while medium-expansion foam forms a blanket that cools and prevents fuel vapor release. Compatible only with non-fluorinated foam systems and listed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for use with specific equipment, this concentrate offers a reliable solution for combating Class A, B, and LNG fires in various settings.
