Common failures & inspection points
Inspect mechanical seal faces (SiC/SiC or Carbon-ceramic) for pitting, scoring, and surface damage. Take oil sample from seal chamber (milky oil indicates seal failure). Use seal minder probe to detect moisture levels in seal chamber.
